Good solid bike I purchased from a co-worker here in Germany. The bike sat for a few months under a cover as non-op. Took it to Semper Fi to get a once over and road/inspection ready. Bike was registered in Sept 2024 with a 2 year registration (will double check). Like I said, solid bike with a few nicks here and there. Small spots of rust here and there but nothing a good thorough detailing couldn’t handle.
The Good:
Semper Fi performed the following work (receipt shown)
- Oil/Filter change
- New derby cover gasket
- New spark plugs
- Brake flush and fluid replacement
- New brake pads
- New battery and charging system check
- New Michelin Scorcher H/D front tire
- New rocker cover gaskets
- New clutch cable
- New transmission end cover gasket
Bike was lowered on blocks; replaced blown air suspension with new Progressive coilovers and returned to stock height. Quick release was added to the Tour pack making it removable for one up riding. Seat is a factory low model so expect to sit low and forward.
Bike has baffled fish tail exhaust. Tombstone tail light. I still have the factory pipes, tour pack mount, stock air suspension and factory taillight. Screamin Eagle air cleaner.
The not-so-good but not show stoppers:
- Few rust spots around the gauge cluster surround, on the shift linkage.
- Previous owner had speakers in the crash bar deflectors that I removed but have yet to replace so the deflectors are removed. If you know the bike, the sliding wind deflector is not installed as it attaches to the pod, so the main deflector can be installed, it just doesn’t have the sliding part attached.
- Could probably use a new set of grips, but the grip heaters work
- Speakers don’t currently work, but radio does. They did until I removed the knee pod speakers. May be just be a connection some where.
- Rear antennas are very slightly bent; I just run with them off
Overall a great bike, I just have 2 and need to go down to 1. It’s a rider’s bike that you won’t be worried about getting rained on or getting dusty.
