Full day Blacksmithing Class
Price €275 full day per person, if booked for two people I offer a discounted rate at €250 per pesron
Located in a historic medieval village forge outside of Lauterecken (45 minutes from RAB and Baumholder).
Price includes a grilled lunch, drinks, all PPE, tools, equipment, fuel (propane and forging coal) and materials.
Objective: learn the essentials of forging and blacksmithing, including fire management (with coal and propane forges), hammer control, safety, various forging techniques like decorative twists and drawing out tapers, where to source material and set up your own hobby forge on even the most modest of budgets and workspace all in the atmosphere of a 19th century forge located across from the village castle.
I can accommodate 2 people per class. You will get to take home whatever you wish to make and the possibilities are really limited to your imagination but some common project ideas possible would be:
- Decorative Wall hooks
- Grilling utensils (spatulas, grill forks, dutch oven lid lifters, tripods, tongs etc
- Decorative animal head shapes
- Furniture/wall hardware (drawer pulls, door handles, coat racks, toilet/paper towel holders)
- Fire pokers and fireplace tools
- wall mounting fixtures
- Brackets and display holders
I am available Monday through Thursday = Message for setting up a date.

Recommended attire: Work boots (no sandals or open toed shoes!) and non synthetic clothing (cotton, denim etc), a hat/baseball cap is also recommended for added protection from forge scale and any grinding dust.
